The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Saint Mary's College of California invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in fall of 2017.

Primary responsibilities include teaching computer science and related mathematics courses in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, continuing the pursuit of scholarly achievements, and participating in College governance. The typical teaching load is six courses per year. In an effort to meet rapidly growing interest from our students, the successful applicant will collaborate with departmental faculty to further develop an innovative computer science curriculum aligned with the College's three traditions. They will also have the opportunity to teach in Saint Mary's January Term and Collegiate Seminar (Great Books) programs.


Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field.

The successful candidate will provide evidence of effective teaching and the promise of successful scholarship in the field of computer science. Experience within a small liberal arts environment is desired.
