Saint Mary’s College of California invites applications for a Physics and Astronomy, Visiting Assistant Professor. This full-time one-year appointment begins in Fall 2017, with the possibility of renewal for up to two years.

We seek an individual dedicated to excellent teaching and capable of providing quality instruction across the undergraduate physics curriculum. The successful candidate will be committed to creating an educational environment that welcomes and supports students from diverse backgrounds. We are especially interested in candidates who can mentor undergraduates in independent studies and projects, and who demonstrate an interest in interactive teaching methods.

A doctorate in physics or a closely related field is required. The visiting assistant professor teaches 6 courses per year, and participates in department and College-wide committees and initiatives.
